An excellent Chancay comb from Peru, Ca. 1100 - 1450 A.D. This rare weaving tool is 3-1/2" long, 2-1/4" wide. Beautifully made from split reed, most likely Carrizo, with flattened points on both sides. This rare textile weaving tool is bound with the brown and tan braided thread typical of Chancay textile manufacture. Choice example. Value range: $300 - $400.
