Kingdom of Macedon, Alexander III 'the Great' AR Tetradrachm. Damaskos, circa 330-323 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin headdress / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left, holding sceptre; ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ to right, forepart of ram right in left field, two dots horizontally between struts, ΔA below. Good Extremely Fine; beautiful old cabinet tone, engraved in highly characterful style. Extremely Rare; not in Price, Taylor cites only three specimens from this series.
