ROMAN EMPIRE. Divius Augustus. died AD 14. Æ Dupondius (15.18 gm; 29 mm). Rome, struck under Gaius (Caligula), 37-41. DIVVS•AVGVSTVS / S - C Radiate head of Divus Augustus to left. Rev. CONSENSV SENAT•ET•EQ•ORDIN•P•Q•R• Augustus, togate, seated left on curule chair, holding olive branch in his right hand and globe in his left. BMC 88; Cohen 87; RIC II 56. Well struck on a nice flan. Some light smoothing on the reverse field. Nice dark patina. Choice EF.
