ROMAN EMPIRE. Ca. 2nd. Century AD. Silver Placque (11.22 gm; 32mm x 26mm). Bust of Artemis. Artemis is the goddess of the hunt, the wilderness, wild animals, the Moon, and chastity. Artemis' symbols included a bow and arrow, a quiver and hunting knives and the deer and the cypress were sacred to her. Original suspension loop on the back. Excellent condition. Nice patina. Intact.
