Commemorating the Bicentenary (200th anniversary) of the Battle of Trafalgar, a naval battle fought by the British Royal Navy against combined French and Spanish Navies on 21 October 1805 in which the British Royal Navy under Admiral Lord Nelson, who died in the battle, was victorious and vastly superior.
Fourth crowned head of Elizabeth II facing right; ELIZABETH · II D · G · REG · F · D FIVE POUNDS / Royal Navy battleships HMS Victory and HMS Temeraire engaged in the battle of Trafalgar, anniversary dates '1805' and '2005' on either side, 'TRAFALGAR' below. Edge inscribed (incuse lettering); ENGLAND EXPECTS THAT EVERY MAN WILL DO HIS DUTY.
