British India, George V, 'Pig' Rupee, Half-Rupee, Quarter-Rupee, 2-Annas, 1911, all Calcutta mint (S & W. 8.11, 8.61, 8.136, 8.194; Pr. 207, 318, 440, 564), about uncirculated to uncirculated, scarce and difficult to find in this condition (4).
Apart from the Rupee, which has some minute surface faults and a small rev. die crack, this set is very much on a par with that sold as lot 317 in our June 2019 auction (realised £9500). The coins do not appear to have been cleaned. If they have been chemically cleaned in the past this has left no surface blemishes. The Rupee, Quarter and 2-Annas have some natural toning.
Estimate: £4,000 - £5,000
