HANOVER. George III. 1760-1820. CU Halfpenny (31mm, 12.83 g, 6h). Third issue. Soho (Birmingham) mint. Dated 1799. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Britannia seated left on rock outcropping, shield at side, holding olive branch in extended right hand, cradling trident in left arm; SOHO below shield; to left, ship with five gun ports in relief sailing right on horizon. Peck 1248; SCBC 3778. Deep blue toning over some spotty underlying red, a few light marks and hairlines. EF.
