KINGS of MACEDON. Philip III Arrhidaios. 323-317 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25mm, 16.31 g, 5h). In the name and types of Alexander III. Susa mint. Struck under Koinos, circa 322-320 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; wreath in left field; below throne ΛA above strut, monogram below. CNG E-472, lot 54 (same dies); otherwise unpublished, but cf. Price 3848 for a hemidrachm with similar control marks. Underlying luster, porous. Good VF. High relief portrait. Extremely rare.
