KINGS of MACEDON. temp. Perseus. 179-168 BC. AR Tetrobol (15mm, 2.50 g, 12h). Pella or Amphipolis mint; Au–, mintmaster. Struck circa 173–171 BC. Macedonian shield; on boss, MA-KE above and below club / Macedonian helmet left; two monograms across central field, monogram and star flanking cheek guards. Touratsoglou, Coin, pl. 5, 9 var. (control marks); HGC 3, 324. Lightly toned, some porosity. VF.
