ATTICA. Athens. Circa 165-42 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 31 mm, 17.00 g, 12 h), Demetrios and Dionysios, magistrates, 141/0. Head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet adorned with Pegasos springing right and a volute on the bowl. Rev. A-ΘE Owl standing facing on Amphora; to left, monogram of Demetrios; to right, eagle standing right on monogram of Dionysios; on amphora, Λ; below amphora, ΠP; all within laurel wreath. Thompson 235c/238b (letter on amphora illegible). An attractive, toned example. The reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, good very fine.
