KINGS OF PERGAMON. Eumenes I, 263-241 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 17.00 g, 11 h), circa 255/50-241. Laureate head of Philetairos to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΕΤΑΙΡΟΥ Athena enthroned left, resting her left elbow on shield decorated with gorgoneion and crowning dynastic name with a wreath held in her right hand; in background, transverse spear; to outer left, bunch of grapes; to inner left, A; to right, bow. Locker Lampson 274 (this coin). Nanteuil 665 = Westermark V.LXXXV/R6 (this coin). SNG von Aulock 1358 (same obverse die). Warren 1030 (same obverse die). A bold and very attractive coin, beautifully toned and with a particularly expressive portrait. About extremely fine.
