PHRYGIA. Laodikeia. Circa 133/88-67 BC. Cistophorus (Silver, 28 mm, 12.21 g, 1 h), Hermogenes, son of Olympiodoros, magistrate. Cista mystica from which snake coils; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. OΛYMΠIOΔΩPOΣ / EPMOΓENOY Two snakes coiled around a bow case; to left, ΛAO; to right, winged kerykeion. BMC -. SNG Copenhagen -. SNG von Aulock 8407. Beautifully toned. The obverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, good very fine.
