CELTIC, Northeast Gaul. Bellovaci. Circa 60-30/25 BC. 1/4 Stater (Gold, 11 mm, 1.52 g, 4 h), 'à l'astre' type. Devolved and disjointed male head to right, with prominent nose, big eye and a radiant sun on the temple. Rev. Horse galloping right; above, radiant sun. DT -, cf. 272 (two suns on the reverse). Flesche 214. LT 7245 var. (suns without central hole). An extremely rare variety. Sharp and attractive, a lovely coin. Thin flan crack and with light scratches on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
