CELTIC, Northeast Gaul. Bellovaci. Circa 60-30/25 BC. AE (Bronze, 17 mm, 2.84 g, 1 h). Schematic head to left, surrounded by a leonine mane of hair. Rev. Human-headed fowl type gryllus to right; to right, pellet-in-ring above spiral-armed sun. DT 509. LT 8584. SLM -. An unusually well struck example with a beautiful dark patina. Extremely fine.
