THRACE. Ainos. Circa 385/4-384/3 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 14.85 g, 12 h). Head of Hermes facing slightly to left, wearing petasos. Rev. AINION Male goat standing right; to lower right, grape cluster with a grain ear above; all within incuse square. May, Ainos, 375 (A230/P259). McClean 3931 (same dies). Boldly struck and of fine style, May calls this 'one of the most successful of the frontal types at Ainos'. Somewhat corroded, otherwise, good very fine.
