CELTIC, Central Europe. Vindelici. 1st century BC. Quinarius (Silver, 15 mm, 1.77 g), 'Kreuzquinar mit Lyra' type. Male head with curly hair to right. Rev. Cross with two lyres and two Λ in opposite quarters. Flesche -. Gorny & Mosch 118 (2002), 1005 (same obverse die). LT -. SLM -. Extremely rare and in exceptional condition for the issue. The obverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, good very fine.

From a Swiss collection, formed over two generations.

The obverse of this interesting issue, especially the hair style, is reminiscent of the drachms of the Volcae-Arecomici with a male head with elaborate hair and African features to the left.
