CELTIC, Lower Danube. Uncertain tribe. Circa 2nd century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23 mm, 12.38 g, 7 h), 'Doppelkopf' type. Imitating Philip II of Macedon. Janiform celticized head of Zeus. Rev. Celticized horseman to right, wearing helmet with long crest; before, rosette; in front of foreleg, branch above pellet in torque. Dembski -. Flesche -. Lanz 546 (same dies). OTA 233/5 (this coin). Preda pl. 31, 10. Beautifully toned and with a fine pedigree. About extremely fine.
