KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 22 mm, 14.28 g, 1 h), Pella, struck under Antipater, Polyperchon, or Kassander, circa 323/2-316/5. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Young jockey, holding palm frond in his right hand and reins in his left, riding horse to right; below horse, serpent; below left foreleg, Boiotian shield. Le Rider 531 (D281/R436). Lightly toned and attractive. Struck from slightly worn dies, otherwise, extremely fine.
