CIMMERIAN BOSPOROS. Pantikapaion. Time of Mithridates VI Eupator, circa 90-79 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 21 mm, 8.41 g, 1 h). Head of Dionysos to right, wearing wreath of ivy and fruit. Rev. ΠΑΝΤΙ/ΚΑΠΑΙ/ΤΩN in three lines with grape bunch above; all within Dionysiac wreath of ivy and fruit. Anokhin 1116. HGC 7, 98. MacDonald 168. Beautifully toned and unusually attractive for this late issue. The reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, good very fine.
