Rev. 𐡔𐡌𐡓𐡂 ('šmry' in Aramaic) Owl standing right, head facing; to left, olive sprig and crescent. Meshorer & Qedar 90 var. (differing reverse legend orientation). Sofaer -. An apparently unpublished variety. In exceptional condition for a Samarian obol, well struck and with a perfectly readable ethnic. Minor area of weakness on the owl, otherwise, extremely fine.
