Hadrian, 117-138. Quadrans (Copper, 16 mm, 2.69 g, 6 h), Rome, circa 125-127. HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS Laureate head of Hadrian to right, with slight drapery on his left shoulder. Rev. COS III Mount Argaios surmounted by statue of Sol-Helios, radiate, holding globe in his right hand and long scepter in his left. Cohen -. Henseler X30 var. (without drapery). RIC II, 3, 899 var. (without drapery). RPC III 3160 var. (without drapery). An apparently unpublished variety of a very rare type. Slightly rough, otherwise, good very fine.
