UNCERTAIN GERMANIC TRIBES, Pseudo-Imperial coinage. Late 3rd-early 4th centuries. 'Quinarius' (Gold, 15 mm, 3.32 g, 11 h), 'Derived Gordian Group B'. K∾7LT TΩXIKX Laureate and draped imperial bust to right. Rev. ∾XIX∾ ∾ XTK∾ Mars advancing right, holding spear in his right hand and shield in his left. A beautiful piece in extraordinary condition and with original suspension loop attached. Extremely fine.

This splendid piece is clearly derived from lots 1876-1877 above, but the slightly clumsier style and differing rendering of the pseudo-legends indicates that the dies were crafted by a different artist.
