Circa 4th-6th centuries. Weight of 6 Ounkia (Orichalcum, 41x41 mm, 162.51 g), a uniface square commercial weight with plain edges. Γᴑ S with cross between underneath an arch supported by two columns; in the upper angles of the cross, sun ornaments; below cross, pedestal; in upper left and right corners, floral ornaments; all details engraved in outline and inlaid in silver and copper. Rev. Blank. Bendall -, cf. 72 (2 Ounkia). CPAI -. MAH 18 = Pondera 4262. A large and impressive seal with intact inlays. Good very fine.
