LYSIMACHUS, king 323-281 BC. Tetradrachm, Amphipolis, about 288-281. AR 17.09 g. Head r. of Alexander the Great deified, wearing royal diadem and ram's horn. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΛΥΣΙΜΑXΟΥ Athena, wearing crested Corinthian helmet, chiton and peplos, seated l. on throne, holding lance with her l. hand, ellbow resting on large round shield, on her outstretched r. hand, Nike flying off to crown the royal name; in field l. and in outer r. field, monograms.
