ROMAN PROVINCE. Tetradrachm, about 148-147 BC. AR 16.89 g. In the central medallion of a Macedonian shield, draped bust r. of Artemis r., wearing diadem, bow and quiver over l. shoulder; around, seven stars and crescents, separated by seven dots arranged in three rows. Rev. Club r. between LEG / ΜΑΚΕΔΟΝΩΝ, on the r., r. hand holding branch; all within oak wreath. SNG Oxford 3310 (same dies); P. A. Rare. Good style. Nice old tone. Some insignificant double striking on rev. Extremely fine
