PTOLEMY I SOTER, king 306-282 BC. Tetradrachm in the name of Alexander the Great, Memphis (?), about 306-303. AR 15.67 g. Head of Alexander r., wearing royal diadem, ram's horn and elephant skin. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Athena Promachos, wearing crested helmet, long chiton and mantle, advancing r., brandishing lance with her raised r. hand, protecting herself with large round shield in l. hand; in field, two monograms, in lower r. field, eagle standing r. on thunderbolt.
