Electrotype: Calabria, Tarentum AR Nomos. British Museum electrotype; stamped MB (Latin initials for Museum). Circa 215-212 BC. Xenokrates, magistrate. Bearded strategos on horse walking to left, wearing short tunic and chlamys, raising right hand in salutation, parazonium under left arm; ΞΕΝΟΚΡΑΤΗΣ below, monogram above / Wreathed Taras seated astride dolphin to left, naked but for chlamys raised in left hand, trident over right shoulder; cuttlefish in waves below, [T]APAΣ to left. Head, Guide V C, 16; for prototype, cf. BMC 187. 6.66g, 21mm, 12h.
