Thraco-Macedonian Region AR Hemiobol. Uncertain mint, 5th century BC. Facing gorgoneion / Kantharos in incuse square. Tzamalis -, cf. 58/50; SNG ANS -; Klein 154 (Neapolis); Roma e39, 153. 0.41g, 7mm, 9h.
Very Fine; slight porosity, lightly toned. Very Rare.
From the inventory of a German dealer.
Although Klein attributes this type to Neapolis, the style of the gorgoneion is quite dissimilar, and the kantharos is unlikely to have been used as a type there.
