George II (1727-60), Shilling, 1731, young head, rev. T over E in AT • ET • E, six strings to harp, edge obliquely milled, 5.98g, 7h (Pywell-Phillips - [cf. 332]; ESC 1704 [1194]; S.3698), toned, almost very fine, the die sinker's error clear, very rare, the far superior of the two examples to be offered at auction since Bull's identification of the variety in 2015.
