(x) Augustus (27 BC - 14 AD), AV Aureus, 7.84g, 8h, Uncertain Spanish mint [Colonia Patricia (?)], struck c. 18 BC, CAESARI AVGVSTO, imposing laureate head right, rev. ornamented quadriga right, containing legionary eagle surmounted by four miniature galloping horses, S.P.Q.R. in exergue (BMC 390 var.; Calicó 275a; RIC² 107a), delightfully centred and of competent artistic style, a pleasing very fine, very rare.
