(x) Maximinus II 'Daza', as Caesar (306-308), AV Aureus, 5.34g, 7h, Nicomedia, struck AD 306-307, MAXIMI-NVS CAE[SAR], laureate head right, rev. SOLI INVICTO NK, Sol standing, head right, right hand raised, holding whip and globe in left, SMN in exergue (RIC VI, pp. 560, no. 43; Hunter 87, 23; Calicó 5042a; Cohen 163), pierced before chin with an attempted plugging, also some old scratches by nape of neck, otherwise residually lustrous, struck details bolder than very fine, very rare and pedigreed to a respected Ancient cabinet.
