Lucania, Metapontion (c. 300-250 BC), Æ 16mm, laureate head of Apollo left, wearing garland, rev. grain ear and tripod, META between (BMC -; Johnston, 'The Bronze Coinage of Metapontum', 40; HN Italy 1675; SNG Copenhagen -; SNG ANS 597), spots of verdigris, otherwise sharply struck and beautifully centred, extremely fine, very rare in this condition.
