Serial No. 18508. optics good. Captured March 1945 by Australian Prisoner of War at Nurnberg, Germany. NX25232 Pte Frank Leslie Hebbard, from Sale, VIC. Enl. 9/7/1940, at Five Dock, NSW to 2/5th Australian Hospital to Greece & captured by Germans on the outskirts of Athens. To Stalag VIII in 1945 marched away from the advancing Russians until they met Patton's Army in the West. Disch 13/10/1945. Shrapnel damage evident. gVF. Nice souvenir of this infamous gun. Scarce particularly with handwritten note (from a relative) of provenance. (P)
