Japan: Sword: ca1926-1945 Military mounted sword, katana. Blade 860mm. Signed tang with 1 hole. . Standard Showa period Army Officer tsuka, no kashira, iron tsuba decorated with 3 chrysanthemums either side, has been painted black. Copper habaki. In its wood saya with canvas field cover & leather outer protective cover. Blade is in GC with full temper line, only 1 tiny nick & the slightest pit near the tip. Tang has some rust which has affected the top & lower parts of the signature Noushu Sekiyu Fukumoto Kane still readable . Overall GC. Worthy of restoration. (P)
