SWEDEN
Swedish Occupation of Estonia: 1670 Charles XI gold ducat (AV 3.45g, 23.5mm), with type IV ducat design, obv 'CAROLVS XI D.G.REX SVECIAE' with laureted & daped bust to left, rev 'MON AVR CIV REVALIENSIS' with crowned shield of 3 leopards, and 1670 split date. KM-38. Ahlstrom/Almer/Jonsson #83 in 'Coins of the Swedish Possesions'. Overall VF+, with small expert repair at top between letters, and smoothed vertical scratch on reverse. Great rarity which was discovered last year, being probably the only example in private hands. An important coin both for collectors of Sweden and Estonia, as well as for collectors of areas related to the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and areas related to the Russian Empire. (P)
