C. Coelius Caldus. 53 BC. AR Denarius (18mm, 3.76 g, 4h). Rome mint. Bare head of the consul C. Coelius Caldus right; behind, signum inscribed HIS; below chin, boar atop signum / Veiled figure seated left on lectisternium; trophies flanking. Crawford 437/2a; Sydenham 894; Coelia 7; RBW 1551. Light iridescent toning, small banker's mark on obverse, a few metal flaws, deposits on the reverse, a few marks and reverse struck off center. Good VF.
