Manuel I Comnenus. 1143-1180. EL Aspron Trachy (33mm, 3.92 g, 6h). First coinage. Constantinople mint. Struck 1143-circa 1152. Facing bust of Christ Emmanuel / Manuel standing facing, holding labarum and akakia, and being crowned and blessed by the Theotokos to right; six pellets in loros end. DOC 2b; SB 1957. Light iridescent toning, light scratches. Good VF.
