M. Volteius M.f. AR Denarius, 78 BC. Head of Hercules right, wearing lion's skin. / Erymanthian boar right; in exergue, M. VOLTEI M.F. Cr. 385/2. B. 2. AR. 3.41 g. 18.50 mm. An outstanding example, exceptionally well centred, brilliant and prettily toned, with lovely iridescent hues. Almost invisible hairline flan-crack at eleven o'clock of obverse and area of striking flatness on reverse, otherwise EF/About EF.
