O around stalk; bud r.This coin is part of a small issue that is extremely relevant to Greek culture. It was issued to pay Rhodian soldiers fighting for a Macedonian king. They would not have fought for him if the coins were of the type used in Rhodes. While these soldiers were good fighters, they were illiterate and could only understand this image of Rhodes.
