CELTIC, Northeast Gaul. Parisii. Circa 100-57 BC. Stater (Gold, 21.5 mm, 7.36 g, 1 h), branch mint "B", class I. Celticized head of Apollo to right, with wavy hair and an X on his cheek (joue tatouée). Rev. Stylized horse to left with a fan-like checkerboard design above and a rosette below. CdB classe I, 3 (same dies). De la Tour - (cf. 7790). Delestrée & Tache I, 41. Sills 497 (same obverse die). Very rare. With a bold and stylistically impressive head of Apollo on the obverse and lively horse on the reverse. Struck on a slightly short flan, otherwise, about extremely fine.
