KINGS OF PONTOS. Mithradates VI Eupator, Circa 120-63 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.82 g, 1 h), Pergamon, dated year ΙΣ = 210 and month Η = 8; or May 87 BC. Diademed head of Mithradates VI to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - MIΘPAΔATOY / EYΠATOPOΣ Pegasos grazing to left; to left, star within crescent; to right, ΙΣ over monogram of ΒΚ; in exergue, Η. De Callataÿ D63/R1 (same dies, but this piece unrecorded). Attractively toned and with a bold portrait. A few minor marks and with a very slightly double-struck reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
