CILICIA. Tarsos. Tiribazos, satrap of Lydia, 388-380 BC. Stater (Silver, 24x17 mm, 10.67 g, 3 h), circa 387-386. Satrap seated right on draped throne, wearing Persian headdress, raising his right hand and with his left holding a bow set on the ground to right. Rev. TRW (= Tarsus in Aramaic) Bearded head right, wearing satrapal headdress (Tiribazos?). Casabonne Series 2, Group C. SNG Levante 66. SNG Paris -. A pleasing coin, with an impressive satrapal portrait. With a somewhat flat struck obverse and an unusual oblong flan, otherwise, about extremely fine.
