Brandenburg-Ansbach. Christian Friedrich Karl Alexander Taler 1769-GS MS67 NGC, Schwabach mint, KM283, Dav-2000. Simply unrivaled: a level of quality and overall preservation that is usually unimaginable for a silver crown of the period, even those carefully set aside not long after their minting. Executed in an unmistakably medallic standard, the devices are raised and fully expressed over fantastically pristine and glassy surfaces, just the most mild mottling of russet tone giving any suggestion whatsoever to its age. Easily the finest taler of any date and mint that the cataloger has seen, and a coin that quite simply must be seen in hand to be fully appreciated.
