By Christian Wermuth. An intriguing historical set of medals produced by Christian Wermuth, sculptor and medallist, depicting kings and emperors elected in Frankfurt. Wermuth served as engraver at the Gotha mint from 1686, and in 1688 became court medallist to the Duke of Saxony, Ernestine branch. The set is comprised primarily of silver issues, with some strikes in white metal.
