Great Britain
George IV gold Proof Pattern 1/2 Sovereign 1825 PR64 Cameo NGC, KM-Pn89 (Rare), S-Unl., W&R-248 (R5). Plain edge. Bearing the "Bare Bust" portrait of George IV, not officially adopted until the following year in 1826. Exceedingly flashy, with hard mirror surfaces that offer a clean contrast against the raised features of the design, the mint frost residing over the King's bust essentially undisturbed and contributing to a heightened sense of impressive preservation. As a type, only rarely offered, and all the more desirable with the noted Pittman pedigree.
