Victoria gold Specimen Award Medal 1870 SP62 PCGS, Eimer-Unl., BHM-Unl. 45mm. 58.78gm. By W. Wyon. Awarded to Percey Warner of the vessel H.M.S. Worcester in 1870. An attractively engraved and seemly unrecorded gold medal of distinction, featuring an intricately engraved reverse design. Despite some visible handling over the reverse inscription, the piece maintains a strong visual appeal. The H.M.S. Worcester was a 52-gun fourth-rate frigate of the Royal Navy that was lent as a training ship to the Thames Marine Officer Training School in 1862.
