Livorno. Cosimo III gold Doppia (Pezza d'oro della Rosa) 1718 MS64 NGC, KM40, Fr-466, MIR-69/3. A fully Mint State offering representing a fleeting, three-year issue. Especially difficult in Mint State grades, the representative is only the second of the type that we have had the privilege to offer. Flashy golden luster and clear detailing create an impression of a coin that may as well have been struck only a few years ago rather than over three hundred, yet there is no doubt that the piece represents one of the finer survivors of its age and issue.
