Constantine VII Porphyrogenitus (AD 913-959), with Romanus I Lecapenus. AV solidus (19mm, 4.37 gm, 6h). NGC Choice AU 5/5 - 4/5. Constantinople, ca. AD 920-921. + IhS XPS RЄX-RЄϚNANTIЧM*, Christ enthroned facing, wearing nimbus cruciger with single pellet in each arm, pallium and colobium, raising right hand in benediction, book of Gospels in left / COhSTAhT' CЄ ROmAn' AЧϚϚ' Ь', facing busts of Constantine VII (on left), beardless, wearing crown and loros, and Romanus I (on right), with short beard, wearing crown and loros; jointly holding patriarchal cross between them. Sear 1741.
Rare issue struck for only several months, after Romanus I was crowned co-Augustus in December AD 920 until his elevation to senior Augustus, around March AD 921.
