Remarkably fresh and original, this rare Essai, stemming from a reported, though understated, mintage of 8 pieces according to the Standard Catalog of World Coins stands not only among the finest certified at NGC by numerical designation, but is also the sole piece to have been graded full red. Struck from slightly rusty dies, a more original specimen would be difficult to find indeed.
