Republic brass Specimen Pattern 8 Escudos ND (from 1844) SP64 PCGS, Struck in Paris by Trelon, Weldon et Weil, KM-PnA4, MC-Unl. Exceedingly appealing as a Pattern, pairing the old obverse design from the 8 Escudos of 1818 to 1834 with a very similar reverse design to that adopted on the 8 Escudos of 1835. Though dated to 1835 on the holder, we note that the company that produced this pattern was not founded until 1844.
